Some of my favourite artists & musicians. . .

I will add more links and details in the coming week on each of the artists & musicians but today I will start with Gaudi.
What makes their work appeal to me, makes me smile, makes me think? Inspires me, but also, I hope my explanations inspire you into looking at these people and their work in more detail.

Artists: Gaudi [now this man is a genius] Architect, mathematician and designer       http://www.gaudidesigner.com/uk/index.html If you have never been to the amazing city of  Barcelona GO! No really, you must go. It is a city full of creative juices to explore. . . If I ever dissapear this is the place to find me! ;)

You have the fantastic city labyrinths to explore, high st stores, markets and what a food market Barcelona has!!! If your an avid cook you must go, a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach.  Boqueira The wonderful beach and harbour, culture, buildings inc Sagrada familia

As an artist you could spend at least a week exploring this builing alone. Gaudi even designed the lamposts, where else would you find lamposts designed by an artist?

  • Antoni Gaudí was run over by a tram on June 7 1926 and as he was dressed with ragged clothes and empty pockets, no taxi drivers picked him up because they thought he would be unable to pay the fare. After a long time, someone took him to a pauper’s hospital in Barcelona where he died three days later refusing to go to a nicer hospital as he believed he belonged among the poor

  • Gaudí was supported financially by a rich industrialist called Eusebi Guell, whom Gaudí named some of his works on

I hope you have found my very short insight into Gaudi interesting but take a look at my glass work to see if there is anything there that reminds you of Gaudi. . . you may find one or two pieces. http://www.thesilverzebra.co.uk
